A ROLLER COASTER RIDE  

 

Put on your seat belt and get ready for one wild ride.  "Crank" tells the story of Chevy Chelios (JASON STATHAM from 'Transporter 1and 2) who wakes up one morning feeling like he has a most wicked hangover. He finds a dvd on his bed and proceeds to view it. On this disk is a message from drug dealer Rick Vicono (JOSE PABLO CANTILLO, the perfect villian). The message states that he injected a poison into Chevy as he slept. Now Chevy's mission is to find an antidote before it is too late. In the process he involves his girl friend (AMY SMART) and a doctor (DWIGHT YOKUM).  The whole film is a non stop roller coaster ride as Chevy races from a hospital in his gown, steals a motorcycle from a cop at gunpoint, has his girl friend nearly killed, and oh yes, in the middle of all this, he takes time to have sex with her in a market square while everyone watches. It is uncalled for, but funny. You will often find yourself hanging on to your seat and gasping for breath. You may even chew your popcorn faster. This is one fun movie.   At times it recalls an earlier film D.O.A. made twice.      SEE YA AT THE MOVIES    CLYDE
