A Film Review By Clyde Ayles

HERE WE GO AGAIN

Well, here we go again. Take a kid or a group of kids who want to play their favorite sport, but their mother or father don't want them to. He then is either spotted by a scout, assigned to a trainer, or becomes part of a winning team. Then the parent relents, supports the kid and the kid goes on to win.   The sport can be football, baseball, hockey, spelling bees, etc.   This time we have soccer. The film opens with young Santiago  Munez and his family escaping across the border from mexico to America. They wind up in Los Angeles. His father takes on small meniel jobs to support his family. But Santiago (KUNO  BECKER, a highly recognized star on Hispanic television market)  is a very talented athlete who wants to rise above all that.   One day while playing soccer he is spotted by a scout named Glen Foy  (STEPHEN DILLANE) who gets him a tryout with one of England's premier soccer clubs, Newcastle United.  You can picture the rest. The head man at Newcastle (MARCEL IURES (Interview With A Vampire) has his doubts about the boy, ke meets a girl (ANNA FRIEL) and he goes on to----------Well, enough said.     All in all, this is not a bad film, it has it's moments,  But it's still a rehash.       SEE YA AT THE MOVIES  Clyde
