The Queen

A Film Review By Clyde Ayles

A ROYAL PRODUCTION

The whole world was turned upside down in 1997 whe the beloved princess Diana died in a car crash.  She was as beautiful as a fairy tale princess, yet she was real and approachable. As the news papers claimed, she was the people's Princess.  Tributes were seen from all over the world. Thousands of mourners offered flowers.  But in the Royal palace things were different. In this fictionalized account the Queen (played by the royal HELEN MIRREN) wants to dismiss the whole thing since Diana was no longer a member of the family, having divorced Prince Charles. But her subjects demand more of her. Thus this gives us a remarkable Film directed by STEPHEN FREARS. Ther are not enough words to dicribe Helen Mirren's portrayal of her royal highness. This performance is the best of the year so far. The actual film clips of the Princess greeting people andof her funeral prossesion are mixed in with the film and they are seamless. This is a first class royal production.SEE YA AT THE MOVIES    CLYDE
