Lately while I am driving I have
been listening to the soundtrack for Idlewild it a great soundtrack
one of the best I have listened to. Lately musical is the new thing
in Hollywood but the big question is? Are we ready for them.
The next one up is called Idlewild In the 1930s American South,
there was one spot that served as a haven -- a place of prayer for
the weary, joy for the hopeful and music for the masses. All were
welcome to come to find the Lord as they walked into church on
Sunday mornings. When the good and righteous built these houses of
worship, however, they did ask guests to leave a few things at the
door, namely: cussing, liquor, fast women, gambling and guns. And
that was the part of the sermon to which Rooster just didn't pay
attention. In his nightclub called "Church," there was only one
story to tell...One in the key of cool.
Welcome to Idlewild, Georgia. Welcome to Church. In Idlewild,
players gather nightly at Church, with childhood friends -- who grew
up on opposite sides of the tracks -- Rooster and Percival playing
two key roles at the club.
When I first saw this trailer I said to myself this film look
interesting, I like the music and the look of the film all this just
from the trailer. So walking into the theater I couldn't wait for
the film to start and when it did I was glued to my seat. Musicals
are good to have but they don't please everybody a young kid who
spend his allowance will not spend his money on a musicals he will
go for snakes on a plane. So when I do a review of musical I try to
promote it as much as I can because films like this deserved to be a
hit.
Idlewild stars one of today great musicals talent they are called
Outkast and they make some great rap and R&B songs. This film was
one of their biggest challenge because Hollywood was very spectacle
on making this film and have to two play in the main role of the
film. However with this type of music and style I could not think of
any one better to make this film. The film itself was very good much
different then most musicals are. The music was outstanding one of
my favorite song on the soundtracks playing during the end credits.
The cast was very good and you could tell the actor put all there
hearts into their roles and it shows on the big screen. The
supporting cast was also very good and it had some great supporting
cast. The film did drag a little but the music makes up for that I
could not stop movieing my feet. Overall Idlewild was a good musical
with a great soundtrack don't miss this film.
