Some call M. NIGHT
SHYAMALAN a master story teller. I guess they never heard of
Alfred Hitchcock. He was the master. Shyamalan has good
ideas, but they never seem to come through on film. His one
hit, as far as i am concerned was "Sixth Sense". "Signs" was
going good until they showed the alien. That took it down to
a grade b sci fi. "The Village" bad. Now we have "Lady In
The Water',\. It's billed as a fairy tale. It should be
billed as a bore. The story centers on a handy man who is
employed by Cove apartments in Cleveland. The handyman (
Award winner PAUL GIAMATTI) starts to notice some strange
things about the swimming pool. Soon he finds what it is. He
is visited by a strange young angelic looking girl (Ron's
daughter BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD) She is a narf who lives under
the pool. She has emerged with a message for mankind. But
she is pursued by a strange four legged creature that is
preventing her return to the sea. Soon the whole village
gets together to help the lady whose name is Story. Get
It?
The director also writes in a part for himself
just like Hitchcock. But Hitchcock he ain't. It has
some good scary moments, but not enough to sustain the
interest. SEE YA AT THE MOVIES CLYDE
