A Film Review By Paul Perkins

You Will Have A Super Time At The Movie Theater

In every relationship there are your up and downs. Sometimes breaking up is the best thing for your relationship because it shows you what you are missing. However image you girlfriend is a superhero one who fly and cook stuff with her eyes. Would you break up with her or stay with her?

Everyone's had a painful parting of the ways with a romantic partner. We pick up the pieces and move on. But for one New York guy, it's not going to be so easy. When he breaks up with his girlfriend, he discovers his ex is actually the reluctant superhero, G-Girl. A scorned woman, she unleashes her super powers to humiliate and torment him. "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" stars Uma Thurman as Jenny Johnson, aka G-Girl and Luke Wilson as Matt Saunders, her beleaguered boyfriend. Anna Faris is Hannah, Matt's co-worker. Rainn Wilson is Vaughn, Matt's best friend and Eddie Izzard is Professor Bedlam, G-Girl's arch nemesis.

I am a big fan of the director Ivan Reitman who is a great comedy director. He has made one of my favorite films called Ghostbusters, he also made the cult hit called Animal House. So when I heard he is making this film I was like I can't wait to see it. I like the idea of the film esp. all the superhero films that came out this year Superman, X-Men. It nice to see a superhero film that is funny and had some romantic stuff in it. However does not drown it in that makes it too sappy.

The acting was very good by the main cast of the film I thought Uma did a great job of playing G-Girl and her mood swings reminds me of my ex but without the superpowers (Another Story). Luke Wilson did a great job of playing her love/ hate boyfriend he also had some funny one-liners esp. when he is about 40,000 feet above the ground. Also there is a sex scene that beats Meg Ryan moaning at the dinner table screen. The supporting cast was also very good in their roles and had some funny one-liners.

Granted this is a film that does not makes you think, this is a film that you go to see to enjoy yourself at the movies and come home with a stomach ache because you laugh so much. So do not miss this funny film.
