On the Outs

A Film Review By Clyde Ayles

REAL LIFE

As your big studio films open this weekend, I would like to present a little, but powerful film from a small indy studio that is worth viewing. Not everyone will like this slice of real life, but I found it to be both inspiring and heartbreaking at the same time.    JUDY MARTE, PAULA MEDOZA,  and ANNY MARIANO star as three young latino girls living in Elizabeth, New Jersey who lead sad, on the streets lifes. Oz is a seventeen year old who is into dealing drugs with life threatning results.  Suzett is a fifteen year old who becomes pregnant after an accounter with a smooth talking drug dealer. At the same time she is dealing with her mother, a case worker and a druggie.   Marisol is a young mother on drugs who is trying to stay clean to keep her young daughter out of a foster home.  The whole film comes across as real life t. v. special,  whitch makes it even more powerful.  The film was directed by MICHAEL SKULNICK and LORI  SILVERBUSH and produced by  Youth House FIlms.     If you want a look at real life, see "On The Outs" It  is in limited release     SEE YA AT THE MOVIES   CLYDE   What Did You Think About The Film E-mail us Your Comments About The Film
