HE"S BAAAACK
Yes, the man of steel is back. After a
five year absentce, he journeyed to find the remains of his
home planet Krypton, Superman finds that some things do
change and some things remain the same. The one thing that
remains the same is the evil antics of Lex Luther, here in
the person of KEVIN SPACEY, doing his imitation of Gene
Hackman. This time Lex wants to use some very powerful
elements to create his own continent. It seems he was
released from prison when Superman failed to show up to
testify against him in a case. Spacey rants and raves and
bullys his girl, this time played by PARKER POSEY. The big
change? Supe's only true love, Lois Lane, is the mother of
a five year old boy. It is a new world for the man in the
red cape. At the same time Clark Kent returns to the Daily
Planet after five years. Gee, can you figure that one out?
It seems no one in this film can.
The effects are very well done, the love story is
well told, and BRANDON ROUTH looks very good as Superman, he
resembles and sounds so much like Christopher Reeve it's
uncanny. However, I didn't feel he had the spark that
Reeve's did. The action scenes were good, but somewhat
limited. Don't get me wrong, i enjoyed the film very much,
but i just feel it lacked something.
For any one who enjoyed the t. v. series, look for Noel
Neil and Jack Larson, the series Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen
in cameo roles.
Plus there is a really nice twist to the
story. BRYON SINGER ( the first two X- Men) did a fine
directing job. SEE YA AT THE MOVIES CLYDE
