A Film Review By Paul Perkins

It Packs A Punch

One of the best directors of my time is Spike Lee he has made some great motion pictures like Get on the Bus, Jungle Fever, Do the Right Thing and many others.  He does not get the justice he deserved people said he goes overboard on some of the statements he makes but that his job and he does a great job at it. His next film is out now it is called The inside Man.

Washington stars as New York police detective Keith Miller, a tough, street-smart cop fighting for a promotion while trying to live down accusations of misconduct connected to his last case. When he and his partner are dispatched to the scene of an in-progress bank robbery and hostage crisis, Miller must face off against a well-educated criminal (Owen) masterminding a concisely plotted operation. As negotiations grow more strained, a powerful lawyer with mysterious ties (Foster) becomes involved in the crisis... and Miller slowly begins to realize that in this ultimate game of cat and mouse, rules are arbitrary, all roles are up for grabs and the black-and-white of right an wrong has blurred to a shadowy landscape of gray.

The Inside Man was a great drama with an outstanding cast that has some of the big players in Hollywood. But what do you expect by a Spike Lee film the story was hard hitting and kept you on the edge of your seat.  I like the idea of the film this is a new version of a classic heist film with more turns then a roller coaster ride.

The acting was all top notches with some of the best acting by Denzel Washington who was outstanding in this film. This is one of his best films the other great acting was by Clive Owen who was outstanding as the bank robber. Jodie Foster did well in her role which was not as big as the two other actors.

The surprising thing about the film was how funny the film was I did not think it was going to be that funny some of the best lines were by Denzel Washington. Overall The inside Man was one of Spike Lee best films this is one film you don’t want to miss check it out today.
