A Prairie Home Companion

A Film Review By Clyde Ayles

ROUSING AND FUNNY

Director ROBERT ALTMAN is known for his off the wall movies with a great ensemble cast "(The Player" for one) has done it again.   "A Prairie Home Companion" tells of the farewell broadcast of a popular radio show of Garrison Keillor, who wrote the screenplay. Station executives have decided to cancel the dusty old show in favor of a new youth oriented one.  This will be the last hurrah for the singers and crew. MERYL STREEP and LILY TOMLIN are a sister dou, WOODY HARRELSON is a singing cowboy, LINDSAY LOHAN is Streep's daughter who sings a mean song herself.  KEVIN KLINE is the station manager who meets TOMMY LEE JONES who is the bigshot sent to pull the plug.        We also meet a very pretty blonde in a long white coat who turns out to be an angel. She brings some shocking results.   There is a really hand clapping, foot stomping song by the cast at the end credits. A fun film.   SEE YA AT THE MOVIES    CLYDE.     What Did You Think About The Film E-mail us Your Comments About The Film
