A Film Review By Clyde Ayles

LOVE THROUGH TIME

I am fasinated by time travel, and when added to a love story, it can be enjoyable. The last time such a film was made was in 1979. "Somewhere In Time" starred the late Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour.  Now director ALEJANDRO AGRESTI gives us {The Lake House",  The story involves Alex (KEANU REEVES) and Kate (SANDRA BULLOCK), who appeared together in the action flick "Speed".   They live in the same glass lake house but two years apart. Him in 2004, her in 2006. But do to a magical mail box, they correspond to each other. All the while Alex is an architect who has issues with his father (CHRISTOPHER PLUMMER,who was in the cast of "Somewhere In Time".)   Kate is a doctor who would love to meet the perfect man, but has settled on a dependeble lawyer ( DYLAN WALSH of t.v.s Nip/Tuck}.  Yes, some moments can be boring as you get to see them open the mail box and stand there reading the letters, but all in all it is a warm heart tugging story of distant love, and I mean distant.   Oh yes, they even share the same dog who is a vital part of the story        SEE YA AT THE MOVIES    CLYDE
