GOOD DRAMA
The two second generation stars
help to elevate this movie from o.k. to above average. MICHAEL
DOUGLAS is secrect service agent Pete Garrison, who we learn in the
opening scenes, once took a bullet protecting Ronald Reagan in the
attempted assasination. Now he is assigned to protect the first lady
(KIM BASSINGER). KIEFER SUTHERLAND is agent David Brekinridge who
used to be friends with Garrison until he suspected him of sleeping
with his wife. But now Pete has more to worry about. Someone is
framing him in a plot to kill the president (DAVID RASCHE) They
threaten to blackmail Pete with pictures of which we will not get
into for fear of ruining the plot. Now Brekinridge and his female
partner (EVA LONGORIA of t.v.s Desperate Housewifes) must hunt down
and bring in his former friend. Here we have a hint of "The
Fugitive". Ther are many tense moments and good action scenes, but
they would all be routine if not for Douglas and Sutherland. They
carry the picture on thier shoulders and they do it well. This film
was directed by CLARK JOHNSON (S.W.A.T. who also appears briefly as
an agent. SEE YA AT THE MOVIES CLYDE
