The Wicker Man

A Film Review By Clyde Ayles
A WICKER CAGE
On a California highway police officer Edward Malus sees a
doll fall out of a passing car. He retreives it and stops the car to give it
back to the little girl passenger. Just as he turns his back a truck slams
into the car causing it to burst into flames. He tries, but is unable to
save anyone in the car. Now he is haunted by visions of the little girl.
Soon he is sent a letter from a mother asking him to come to a town to help
find her missing daughter. As he arrives at this strange town, it is run by
women who answer to the names of sister. The women resist his questions
about the missing girl, telling him she never excisted. As he probes
further, he finds prove of the little girl as he faces danger.
This leads him to a very, very nerve racking
scene where he gets into a very hot trap. I have always been a fan
of NICOLAS CAGE who plays the policeman, so his performance saves this
familiar film. It is a remake of Hammer Films 1973 film starring
Christopher Lee. The children bring back thoughts of "Village Of The
Dammed". The film does have some attention getting moments, but not enough
to make it a great film. SEE YA AT THE MOVIES CLYDE
