Lincoln Burrows, played by Dominic Purcell, is the protagonist of the show.

 

Michael Scofield, Lincoln's brother is played by Wentworth Miller.

Robin Tunney was cast as Veronica Donovan, the brothers' childhood friend and lawyer.

Amaury Nolasco plays Michael's Fox River cellmate, Fernando Sucre

Paul Adelstein, who plays Agent Paul Kellerman, a secret service agent involved in the conspiracy behind Lincoln's conviction

The story revolves around a man who was sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit and the lengths that his brother will go to to save him. Created and co-executive produced by Paul Scheuring, Prison Break is an Adelstein-Parouse Production in association with Original Television and 20th Century Fox Television.

Season 1 (2005 - 2006)

The first season revolves around Michael Scofield's plan to break his brother out of prison. It covers approximately two months of the characters' lives - the entire length of Michael's stay at Fox River State Penitentiary.

Trouble is brewing in the prison, with a race riot imminent. Michael has trouble retrieving a screw from the bleachers. Veronica receives a security tape that shows Lincoln shooting Terrence Steadman.

Michael must test his cellmate, Fernando Sucre's ability to keep a secret. Sucre, however does not want to be implicated in Michael's escape plan. T-Bag wants revenge and John Abruzzi reaquaints with Michael.

Michael gets a new cell mate, Haywire, who complicates with his escape plan. Sucre loses his girlfriend to his cousin, and decides he wants back in.

Michael needs to get back on schedule with the escape plan. In order to do so, he puts the prison in lockdown. However, Michael unintentionally starts a riot. T-Bag stumbles upon the hole in Michael's cell.

In the midst of the riot, Michael crawls through the pipes to rescue Dr. Tancredi who's trapped alone in sick-bay with the prisoners. Veronica and Nick trace an anonymous call to a phonebox in Washington D.C..

Michael discovers the storeroom that is fundamental to the escape has been converted into a break room. Veronica, Nick and LJ's lives are endangered. Westmoreland gets an invitation from Michael to join the escape team.

Michael tries to protect a new inmate from T-Bag. Abruzzi loses the support of Philly Falzone and consequently his control of PI, putting the escape plan in danger. C-Note grows suspicious of Michael.

Michael must give up Fibonacci for Abruzzi to regain control of PI. C-Note discovers the hole and forces into the escape team. Hale and Kellerman are introduced to Quinn, who sets about finding Veronica, Nick and LJ.

There are too many people for the escape to work - one must leave. Friction is heightened within the escape team. Michael prepares the last route to the infirmary. Veronica receives help from an unlikely ally.

Lincoln, now in solitary, forces Michael to change the plan slightly. The team attempts to carry out the escape plan. Veronica goes to the media with the evidence she has gathered so far, with a possible help from Hale.

Lincoln is saved at the last minute when someone anonymously hands evidence to the judge. Michael reformulates his escape plan. He must find a way get to psych ward without being detected.

Michael tries to get Haywire to sketch the missing part of his tattoo. Geary wants to auction off Scofield's and Sucre's cell to the highest bidder. The team need try to raise enough money to buy it.

Lincoln is rescued from the car crash by his father. He learns the reason behind the set-up for Steadman's murder. Michael needs the key to the infirmary. Abruzzi returns. Tweener tells Bellick about the escape.

Michael is forced to shift the escape timetable earlier when Bellick discovers the hole in the storage room. He reluctantly involves Sara in the escape plan. Veronica finds evidence that points her to Blackfoot, Montana. Tweener joins the breakout team.

Sara must decide whether she should help Michael or not. Veronica's trip to Montana is hindered by Nick. Michael must betray the warden in order to release Lincoln from solitary. The escape team makes a break for it.
"Flight" Paul Scheuring Kevin Hooks 15 May 2006
The escapees run for their lives to evade capture. Meanwhile, Veronica races to Montana to find the most significant piece of evidence to prove Lincoln's innocence. The Vice President is abandoned by The Company.
