A Film Review By Clyde Ayles

DON'T ANSWER
In 1979 Carol Kane (tv's Taxi) starred in a thrilling
movie called "When A Stranger Calls". It became the basis for many
thrilling movies, including the opening of "Scream" with Drew
Barrymore as the victom and "Scary Movie". It involves a babysitter
who keeps getting eerie phone calls from a stranger who asks "Are
the children alright" and other scary things. As the police trace
the call, they discover that the calls are coming inside the house.
Now director SIMON WEST has given us a remake, surprised? I
might add, a very lame remake. This time the babysitter is played
by CAMILLA BELL, a pretty girl who may go far with acting lessons.
She is watching the two children of a doctor when she starts to
receive her calls. Some with heavy breathing. Who would think of
that? Oh yes, it also starts to rain outside, something new. Not
once did I feel that she was really in danger and not once did I
jump when I was expected to, Please, enough of bad remakes of
good horror films. SEE YA AT THE MOVIES CLYDE,
