A
Film Review By Clyde Ayles

A SUMMER HIT
This is what summer movies are about. Top notch
effects, great camera work, and interesting characters, although at
times there were too many characters to devote much time to them
all. This was my only complaint about this film. But basicly this
film really belonged to three of them. HUGH JACKMAN as the steel
clawed Wolverine, The lovely HALLE BERRY as Storm, and the great
IAN McKELLEN as the evil Magneto. The others really don't have a lot
to do, though they are important to the story. Returning in their
somewhat short roles are REBECCA ROMIJN as Mystique, ANNA PAQUIN as
Rogue, and of course PATRICK STEWART as Dr.Xavier. We now have the
addition of KELSEY GRAMER as the Beast. Who hired him?
The story tells us that a
cure has been found for all mutants. Of course Dr. Xavier's little
group of above metioned characters do not agree with this. Thus the
battles begin. And what battles they are. The action scenes are
second to none. They are exciting and extremely well staged and
filmed. Lovers and fans of the X-men will not be dissapointed. BRETT
RATNER did an over the top directing job. A big round of applause
for him. I have never read an X-men book, but I did not
want this film to end. Do
yourself a huge favor and stay through the end credits, there is a
scene that will give you a hint of possible things to come. SEE YA
