Oscar Worthy Performance

Well the summer movie season is now over and the fall season has begun. And right around the corner is the Oscar season so you will see a lot of films comes out that will try to get the statue.

One name is very familiar with Oscars is  Cate Blanchett she has won one and was nominated for one. So when you know she is in the film you know it going to be a great performance. In this new role she plays a part that make her famous. Elizabeth this film is called Elizabeth The Golden Years  "The Golden Age" finds Queen Elizabeth I (Oscar®-winner Cate Blanchett) facing bloodlust for her throne and familial betrayal. Growing keenly aware of the changing religious and political tides of late 16th century Europe, Elizabeth finds her rule openly challenged by the Spanish King Philip II (Jordi Molla)--with his powerful army and sea-dominating armada--determined to restore England to Catholicism.

Preparing to go to war to defend her empire, Elizabeth struggles to balance ancient royal duties with an unexpected vulnerability in her love for Raleigh. But he remains forbidden for a queen who has sworn body and soul to her country. Unable and unwilling to pursue her love, Elizabeth encourages her favorite lady-in-waiting, Bess (Abbie Cornish), to befriend Raleigh to keep him near. But this strategy forces Elizabeth to observe their growing intimacy.

I am not a history buff I know nothing about history just want I see in the films. So of course history films are not my favorite type of films but being a critic I see all types of films. So I think Cate Blanchett is a great actress she has done some great films over the years. So walking into film I know I don't like this type of film but I think it will be good.

I was right it was a great motion pictures here are some good and bad points of the film.

Good

  1. The story was very powerful and held my attention from start to finish.

  2. The acting was outstanding by everyone in the film I think there will be some Oscars nominations for Her and some of her cast.

  3. The film did not get boring at at and had the right length not too long or short.

  4. The scenery was breathtaking the cinema photography did an outstand job of showing us the film.

There was no bad points about the film.

Overall Elizabeth was a outstanding film that should get some Oscar buzz and should be check out no matter if you like these types of films or not. See it today.
