When a film comes out and it had two of the best stars of their
generation you would think the script would be perfect. In this new film
you would be wrong. The film is called Righteous Kill is about A pair of
veteran New York City police detectives are on the trail of a vigilante
serial killer. After 30 years as partners in the pressure cooker
environment of the NYPD, highly decorated Detectives David Fisk and
Thomas Cowan should be ready for retirement, but aren't.
Before they can hang up their badges, they are called in to
investigate the murder of a notorious pimp, which appears to have ties
to a case they solved years before. Like the original murder, the victim
is a suspected criminal whose body is found accompanied by a four line
poem justifying the killing. When additional crimes take place, it
becomes clear the detectives are looking for a serial killer, one who
targets criminals that have fallen through the cracks of the judicial
system.
With this star power this film has it should be an outstanding motion
picture but this film falls short. Some film have very bad ending in
this case the beginning is very bad. I knew some of the key ending
already in the beginning of the film. The problem is the avenge movie
person will not catch it but if you see as many as I do you will catch
it.
The acting was superb mostly by the two main stars of the film, Every
time Pacino and De Niro are the screen together nether of them outdo
each other and both of them shine on the big screen. Pacino has
some of the funny liners as he usually does in all his film. This is a
film that is watchable only because of the stars of the film and you
keep watching to see what they will do next. The supporting case was
also good and off course they have to be a hot female cop in the film.
Carla Gugino fit that bill quite nicely to be honest very nicely and in
this film see if very tough.
The problem with the film is the script I think the writer with all
the star power just did not know how to handle the big name stars. And I
hate film that start of bad as well as film that end bad. This film
start off horrible and you wonder why the director starts it that way he
could have did it totally different. I do like cop film if they are done
right. I was so disappointed in this film I was really looking forward
to it and it did not bring it like I thought it would.
Overall Righteous Kill was disappointing I was hoping it would been
better but at least we have some great acting in it.
