A Film Review By Paul Perkins

Very Predictable But With A Good Ending

Losing a love one is a very painful thing that can  happen to some one and it can change your life forever some for good and some for bad. The Uninvited centers around Anna (Emily Browning), who returns home after spending time in the hospital following the tragic death of her mother. Her recovery suffers a setback when she discovers her father (David Strathairn) has become engaged to her mother’s former nurse, Rachel (Elizabeth Banks). That night, Anna is visited by her mother's ghost, who warns her of Rachel's intentions. Together, Anna and her sister (Arielle Kebbel) try to convince their father that his current fiancée is not who she pretends to be, and what should have been a happy family reunion becomes a lethal battle of wills between stepdaughters and stepmother.

The Uninvited was a good thriller but I wouldn't call it a horror film granted there are some dead people in the film and usally when you see a dead child you think horror film. So watching the trailer it does make it like a horror film but do watch the trailer too much it does give away some of the key plot points in the film.

The story was pretty good it remind me of a film called Passengers that came out last year but the only main problems of the film is that it is

Very predictable you know what was going to happen next but when they brings the story to the end it get better and it have a great one-liner and the ending make up for the predictable of the story.

The Acting was good by all the players of the film you feel for the main character of the film and what she is going thru and you could feel the hate coming for the two main characters in the film how one is trying to be a good stepmother but she has a dark side to her and the step daughter trying to be nice for her father but you could tell she hates her. This month there was a ton of film that came out most of the Oscar Nominated film are still doing strong at the box office. I know most of you see them so to end the moth of Jan with a bang you have two good film to look forward to The Uninvited and Taken so you have a choice to make this weekend. If it was me I would see both of them.

Overall The Uninvited was a good thriller but I wouldn't call it a horror film more a good thriller with some good jump moments in the film that you don't want to miss it check it out today.
