A Film Review By Paul Perkins

Don't Want To Know

Since the dawn of time Hollywood love to make film that show the world being destroyed by some natural event. We have seen a blizzard film couple of film that had volcano destroying the world and a ton of other disasters movies.

In 1958, as part of the dedication ceremony for a new elementary school, a group of students is asked to draw pictures to be stored in a time capsule. But one mysterious girl fills her sheet of paper with rows of apparently random numbers instead.

Fifty years later, a new generation of students examines the capsule’s contents and the girl’s cryptic message ends up in the hands of young Caleb Koestler. But it is Caleb’s father, professor John Koestler (Nicolas Cage), who makes the startling discovery that the encoded message predicts with pinpoint accuracy the dates, death tolls and coordinates of every major disaster of the past 50 years. As John further unravels the document’s chilling secrets, he realizes the document foretells three additional events—the last of which hints at destruction on a global scale and seems to somehow involve John and his son. When John’s attempts to alert the authorities fall on deaf ears, he takes it upon himself to try to prevent more destruction from taking place.

When I First saw the trailer for this film I had mixed thoughts because we have seen a ton of disasters film that came out over the years and to be honest enough with them how many time can you destroy this world.

The story was a little different than most disasters movies that we seen before. I like the premise of the film and for people who believe in predicating the future then this film is for you.  The film did drag a little bit and could have been cut about 20 mins and still made the point it was trying to make.

The acting was good nothing to write home about but ok this type of film you don't expect too much from the actors in this film.  The main thing of the film is the special effects which this film has a ton of and they are all top notch in that section of the film. The film got 3 stars because of the length of the film and it kind of predictable but don't let me discourage you from seeing it. The film is watchable and with all the film coming out this week check it out today.
