Land of the So-So

Remakes are a dime a dozen there has been a lot of remakes that came out over the year some on classic film and some on classic TV shows well the next one up to bat is Land of the Lost and it base on the classic TV Show with the same name. I never seen the TV show but I heard it was pretty good so I guess this film did not give it justic.

Land of the Lost is about Has been scientist Dr. Rick Marshall, is sucked into one and spat back through time. Way back. Now, Marshall has no weapons, few skills and questionable smarts to survive in an alternate universe full of marauding dinosaurs and fantastic creatures from beyond our world. Sucked alongside him for the adventure are crack-smart research assistant Holly and a redneck survivalist named Will. Chased by T. rex and stalked by painfully slow reptiles known as Sleestaks, Marshall, Will and Holly must rely on their only ally -- a primate called Chaka to navigate out of the hybrid dimension.

Land of the lost was a big disappointing mess, some of the stuff was just not funny granted I did laugh at couple of things but at other things I put my hands up and said why. This film is one of the big films of the summer and the way the film look you would think it came out in January. The idea of the film was ok I like how they go back in time. The problem is this film wasn't that funny and with the big name star attach to it you would think it would be more funnier.

This film was PG-13 but god it should have gotten a R rating there is a lot of curse words and a lot of sex jokes it a shame they market this to kids and it should not be seen by little kids because of all the words in it. The last time I saw a bad Rating like this is Scary Movie which got a R ratings and it should have gotten a NC-17 ratings.

The acting was not that good this is another bad film of Will Ferrell his last bad film was Step Brothers, he is the type of actor that like Howard Stern you either like him or hate him. Some of our critics here hate him and will not see any of his films. I think he is usually very funny in his film but this and his other film just was not that funny. I was hoping this film was going to be great but I guess I was wrong. The special effects was good with the exception of the sleestaks which look so fake it scary. But I heard the TV show look so fake as well but I cannot compare it to the show I never saw the show.

Overall Land of the Lost will make a lot of money this summer but it was a big disappointment I wish it was better but hey there is a lot of more big films coming out this summer so we need a bad one thrown in the pot everyonce and this film is it.
