A Great Mixture of Action and Laughs

The newest thing in Hollywood is remaking old TV shows and putting them on the big screen. I Spy, Bewitched and many others has grace us in the multiplex. Some was good some were not so good; the problem with them is a TV show that is 30 mins does not work for 90 mins.

Well the next one up to bat is a film base on the late 1960 TV show called Get Smart. I really did not see any of the TV show it was before my time. Which you can see them now on the small screen thanks to DVD.

The big screen version centers on Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) who is on a mission to thwart the latest plot for world domination by the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS. When the headquarters of U.S. spy agency Control is attacked and the identities of its agents compromised, the Chief (Alan Arkin) has no choice but to promote his ever-eager analyst Maxwell Smart, who has always dreamt of working in the field alongside stalwart superstar Agent 23 (Dwayne Johnson). Smart is partnered instead with the lovely-but-lethal veteran Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway). Given little field experience and even less time, Smart--armed with nothing but a few spy-tech gadgets and his unbridled enthusiasm--must thwart the doomsday plans of KAOS head Siegfried (Terance Stamp).

This summer has been a lot of comedy film that came out on the big screen there have been, the outstanding Kung FU Panda there have been the disappointing You Don’t Mess with Zohan and the Ok the Love Guru. So walking into Get Smart I was saying to myself I hope this is good esp. with the big name stars they have in the film.

Well the film was very funny and next to Kung Fu Panda is one of the funniest films of the summer so far.  Granted the summer has just begun the other comedy films that still have to come out has a lot to do to out thrown this film? The acting for this film was great people who have seen the TV show told me that Steve Carell was the perfect choice for the main role and people told me he looked like him. I thought he was great which nothing is new for him he is a great comedy actor and when he is in a film you know you are in for some laughs.

Anne Hathaway which is a very nice to look at and in this film she looks her best, acted very great and kick some major butt which was a surprise. Because she is mostly know for her Disney roles and this one show us she can act as well as look great. One of the great entertainer in sport history if you smell what he is cooking. Is also in the film his name is Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock and he had some funny scenes in the film as well.

The film had the right about of comedy and action and it did not drag or get boring at all. Overall Get Smart was a very good comedy film that you don’t want to miss check it out today.
