For All The New And Old Indy Fans This Was Worth The Wait
In 1989 a series ended that was a classic in film making, and it was a box office hit. The films are Indiana Jones Trilogy. After The Last Crusade, the trilogy was over. There was some talk of a fourth one but it never when through.
Well, it now 2008 and the new Indiana Jones is there you go called Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The begins in the desert Southwest in 1957 - the height of the Cold War. Indy and his sidekick Mac (Ray Winstone) have barely escaped a close scrape with a nefarious Soviet agent on a remote airfield.
Now, Professor Jones has returned home to Marshall College - only to find things have gone from bad to worse. His close friend and dean of the college (Jim Broadbent) explains that Indy's recent activities have made him the object of suspicion, and that the government has put pressure on the university to fire him. On his way out of town, Indiana meets rebellious young Mutt (Shia LaBeouf), who carries both a grudge and a proposition for the adventurous archaeologist: If he'll help Mutt on a mission with deeply personal stakes, Indy could very well make one of the most spectacular archaeological finds in history - the Crystal Skull of Akator, a legendary object of fascination, superstition and fear.
Well, one of the most anticipation films of this decade is finally out this film is 19 years in the making, and it has been talked about forever. What can I say about it before I go into my review; I will tell you my order from the best to the worst Indy films? First Is Raiders of the Lost Art, Second Is Temple of Doom, Third is Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and last is Last Crusade.
This new film was a very good interesting film. It did lose a little of the Indy Sprit the other three films had, but I believe that on account of the long wait we had to wait for this film. However, to be honest it was worth the wait. I remember seeing the first film in the film theatre I was 8 years old and I was amazed what I was seeing and I could wait to see the next 2 on the big screen. Consequently, when I found out they are making a new one, I was happy I get to relive my childhood all over again.
As a result, walking into the theatre which was a very nice theatre The Pearl in Philly is a very nice theatre to check out The New Indy film. On a side note I want to thank the Pearl Theatre and Terry Hines Adverting for the nice day they had for us film critics at the Indy screening.
Well the film was good I like the story and how the director tells the story granted some of the diehard Indy fans may believe the story was good but my say it could be much better. The director has to change the style of the film because he doesn't’t want to copy off the other 3 films and bring some newness to the new generations of Indy fans.
The special effects were good in this film and the scenery was breathtaking as it usually is. The acting was very good by all the main players of the film. The new thing in Hollywood is the older generations of actors are going back to their roots and doing film, they did when they was a lot younger.
Sylvester Stallone did with Rambo and Rocky and he was great in those films. Now Harrison Ford is doing it with Indy 4 and Harrison did an amazing job as well. He did not go overboard he had the same style and great lines that he had in all the films. The other good acting job was Shia LaBeouf who I believe did a great job of playing Indy sidekick, he seems to work great beside Harrison.
The film did not drag at all and held my attention from start to finish. Overall Indian Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull were worth the wait and it worth every penny of the admission price this is what the summer film season is all about cheque it out today.
