Stepbrothers A Film Review By Paul Perkins You Would Think With These Two Actors This Would Been A Lot Better Comedy films are a dime a dozen I love them they are one of my favorite type of film I like the most. The problem with comedy films are some times they can get very stupid and not funny at all and when that happens you are in for a hell of a bad time at the movies.
In "Step Brothers," Ferrell plays Brennan Huff, a sporadically employed thirty-nine-year-old who lives with his mother, Nancy (Mary Steenburgen). Reilly plays Dale Doback, a terminally unemployed forty-year-old who lives with his father, Robert (Richard Jenkins). When Robert and Nancy marry and move in together, Brennan and Dale are forced to live with each other as step brothers. As their narcissism and downright aggressive laziness threaten to tear the family apart, these two middle-aged, immature, overgrown boys will orchestrate an insane, elaborate plan to bring their parents back together. To pull it off, they must form an unlikely bond that maybe, just maybe, will finally get them out of the house.
The problem with Stepbrothers is that some of the jokes was not funny at all and was very stupid you will say to yourself why is this in this film. The idea of the film was ok kind of stupid granted two 40 years old men who still lives at home are now becoming stepbrothers is a funny concept. But the way the story went was kind of stupid. The acting was ok nothing to write home about, the problem is you have to funny comedians who can say some very funny jokes but with a bad script to come across very lame.
Some of the gags are just as bad as the horse scene in Freddy Got Fingered which you all know it my worst film of all time. The trailer for this film gives away most of the best parts in the film. The film was about 90 mins thank god if it was any longer it would been a crime. I am so disappointed in this film I thought it would have been a better film. When you make a comedy film make sure it is funny not lame as this film was.
Overall I am done saying how bad this film was I wish it was better it should have been better. (c) 2008 Paul Perkins |
